Yorktown ISD Non-Discrimination Statement
Yorktown ISD is committed to providing a learning and working environment that is free from discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. In compliance with federal and state laws—including Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Americans with Disabilities Act—the district does not discriminate on the basis of sex, disability, race, color, national origin, age, religion, or any other legally protected characteristic in its educational programs or activities. This requirement extends to employment, admission, and access to all district programs.
As a K–12 public school district, Yorktown ISD is not subject to the provisions in Title IX Regulations (Subpart C) that govern admissions and recruitment. However, the district does not discriminate on the basis of sex in admissions, enrollment, or transfer requests.
Title IX Compliance
In accordance with 34 C.F.R. Part 106.8 of the 2020 Title IX Regulations, Yorktown ISD provides this notice of its non-discrimination policy and its adopted procedures for the prompt and equitable resolution of student and employee complaints.
The district has designated the following individual to serve as its Title IX Coordinator, responsible for receiving and responding to concerns or inquiries related to sex discrimination—including sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, and gender-based harassment:

Any individual may report sex discrimination, including sexual harassment, at any time—during or outside normal business hours—by mail, phone, email, or in person.

Reporting and Inquiries
Upon receiving any allegation of sex-based harassment or discrimination, the Title IX Coordinator will respond promptly in accordance with board policies FFH and DIA.
Inquiries regarding Title IX may be directed to:
TEA Section 29.916 states that the PSAT/NMSQT test or the Advanced Placement test is available for Home Schooled students eligible to attend school in our district. A school district shall permit a home schooled student to participate in an administration of the PSAT/NMSQT or college advanced placement test offered by the district. A school district shall require a home-schooled student to pay the same fee to participate in a test under this subsection that a student enrolled in the district is required to pay. The McKinney-Vento Act is the federal law reauthorizing the Stewart B. McKinney Act that governs the education of children and youth in homeless situations. This act was signed into law in January 2002, and was effective July 1, 2002.
