The Yorktown Varsity Cross Country runners were up early to run at the Port Aransas Invitational Cross Country meet. Freshman Lainey Lemke was the top finisher for the Kitty Kats and freshman Kaden Williams was the top finisher for the Wildcats. ๏ฟผShout out to the parents who made sure the kids got there on time.

Our third graders took a closer look at their unit test responses and turned it into a fun learning opportunity! Students reviewed anonymous written responses from their classmates and worked together to decide whether each response should receive a 2, 1, or 0. They then explained why they chose that score and what made each response strongโor what it could improve.
But the best part? Students got to โteachโ the class and share their thinking! ๐ค๐
Seeing different responses helped our Wildcats better understand what a strong Short Constructed Response (SCR) looks like and what they can do to strengthen their own writing.
And, of course, getting to be the teacher for a few minutes was an extra bonus! ๐๐๐ค
Coach Taylorโs class took math off the page and into motion! ๐คธโโ๏ธ Students used kinesthetic strategies to solve math problems, hopping and jumping to represent increasing and decreasing.
Who says math has to mean sitting still? ๐ These Wildcats are proving that learning can be active, engaging, and SO much fun! ๐๐ค
